Regenerative and Predator Friendly Half Mutton (+- 14 kg) by N’Rougas Farm

You will receive the following portions in your half mutton box:

Our sheep farming is predator friendly – the sheep are shepherded by day and kraaled by night, allowing the jackals and caracals to live with us on the farm, performing their important roles in the local ecosystem.

We follow a Holistic Management system – our shepherds move the sheep in grazing patterns that are designed to mimic the natural migration of the wildlife that used to roam here in the time before the fences were put up across our country.

The trampling hooves of our flock moving together works the manure and dead plant material back into the soil, creating a fertile seedbed and allowing the rain to be better absorbed into the soil instead of running off and causing erosion.

This, along with carefully planned recovery times for the plants while the sheep are elsewhere, means that we will soon see the regeneration of biodiversity, grass volumes and soil health. This allows us to capture greater quantities of Carbon in the soil.

Please note that we only deliver to the City Bowl, Southern Suburbs and South Peninsula. Delivery is R150 above mutton price. We will also offer a collection at Constantia Village for no charge and will confirm the time soon.  Delivery to your home in Johannesburg at R200.

Please also note that the half mutton is on average 14kg  in weight.
